AMERICAN ASIAN: PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS
Book Design | Undergrad Fall 2014
I wrote, designed, and produced a personal book that deals with the racial stereotypes I faced as a second generation Asian American living in Oklahoma. Being aware of my “difference”, racism and identity are topics that have always been interesting to me. This book serves both as a biography and a commentary on the ridiculousness I have encountered as an Asian American. It is broken up into three parts: vision, voice, and mind. It is a personal observation of the stereotypes, realities, and issues and their long terms effects—using humor to bring attention to the issues an Asian American may face in socializing and self-identity.
