Grip recently underwent a complete rebrand and we created this short announcement video. The motion piece is composed of a compilation of short illustrations of things that are "Slippery When Wet". 

THE HISTORY OF MARIJUANA PROHIBITION

Legalization of marijuana could be considered the alcoholic prohibition movement of this generation. Public opinion of marijuana has shifted as evidenced by states legalizing the drug for recreational and medical purposes. How did the plant come to this point within our society? Propaganda, racism and corruption were key themes in what drove the United States toward a negative view. Using dark gritty illustrations and tone, this short motion animation depicts the historical events that ultimately led up to marijuana prohibition.

VISUALIZING MENTAL ILLNESS

Branding a PBS series detailing mental illnesses, this short digital video draws inspiration from the phenomenon of hallucinations. Using water and ink, a visual language of fluidity and translucency is expressed. The blurred lines between reality and imagination of hallucinations are explored, accompanied with audio clips of what a schizophrenic hallucinates. A terrifying and haunting experience is accomplished for the viewer, leaving them questioning what’s real and what’s not.

OU IT WEPA ANIMATIONS

A series of short animations targeted toward the students to highlight the advantages of using WEPA cloud printers over traditional printers. Using humor and thinking about problems students face when printing, the team came up with five situations that showcases the benefits of cloud printing.
