This piece speaks to the two cities that I have lived in since leaving my hometown in Oklahoma. It is a triptych containing the downtown area codes of Los Angeles (213) and Chicago (312), shifting between the dark grit and grunge of Chicago and the dreamy euphoria of LA. Combining my love for lettering, illustration and motion, each number visually represents three different states of my life during my time in each city (the physical, the emotional, and the spiritual).
